This air fryer sausage sub is loaded with juicy sausage, balsamic peppers, marinara, and melty cheese—all done in 20 minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Italian sausages mild or spicy
  • 1/2 bell pepper sliced
  • 1/2 onion sliced
  • 1 clove garlic minced or grated
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil plus a few sprays
  • 1/4 cup marinara sauce
  • Shredded mozzarella or provolone
  • 2 sub rolls / hoagie rolls

Method
 

  1. Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  2. Lightly spray rolls with olive oil and toast for 3–4 minutes. Set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix peppers, onions, garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil.
  4. Add sausage and veggies to air fryer. Cook at 380°F (193°C) for 15 minutes.
  5. Halfway through, flip sausage, mix veggies, and spray lightly with oil.
  6. Assemble subs with sausage, veggies, marinara, and cheese.
  7. Return to air fryer for 2–3 minutes at 380°F (193°C) until cheese melts.
