Method
- Make the filling
- In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, imitation crab, green onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and a good pinch of salt until well combined. Taste the filling and add a little more salt or an extra dash of Worcestershire if needed.
- Fill the wontons
- Place about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Try not to overfill them or they can burst while cooking.
- Fold
- You can use either of these two easy folding methods:
- Traditional rangoon fold: Bring the four corners together in the center and pinch to seal.
- Simple triangle fold: Fold the wrapper corner-to-corner and seal the edges with a little water.
- Whichever method you use, pinch the edges well and try to remove any air from inside the wrapper.
- Air fry
- Lightly spray the rangoons with oil. Air fry at 400°F (204°C) for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve
- Serve hot with sweet chili sauce, duck sauce, or soy sauce.
- Tips for the Best Air Fryer Crab Rangoon
- Don’t overfill the wrappers.
- Seal the edges well so the filling stays inside.
- Spray lightly with oil for better browning.
- Try to remove extra air from inside the wrapper before sealing.
- Keep an eye on the last couple minutes since air fryers can vary.

Notes
Easy Folding Options
One of the best things about this recipe is that you do not need to stress about making every wonton look perfect. The traditional crab rangoon fold looks great, but the simple triangle version is easier and works just as well. If you’re making these for the first time, go with whichever fold feels easiest. The important part is sealing them well so they crisp up nicely in the air fryer.
Storage and Reheating
These are best eaten fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. To reheat, pop them back into the air fryer for a few minutes until hot and crisp again. Microwaving works for warming them up, but they will lose that crispy texture.
